January/February (Spring Semester) – Limited programs, mostly postgraduate.

● Undergraduate (via CAO): Apply by 1 February (late applications until May).
● Postgraduate: Varies by university, usually December – March for September

Tuition Fees & Living Costs

Undergraduate Tuition: €9,000 – €20,000 per year
Postgraduate Tuition: €10,000 – €25,000 per year
MBA Programs: €25,000 – €35,000 per year
Living Costs: €10,000 – €15,000 per year (~€800–1,200/month, higher in Dublin)

Scholarships: Government of Ireland Scholarships, Erasmus+, and university-specific funding.

Language Proficiency Requirements – IELTS / TOEFL

Undergraduate: IELTS 6.0 – 6.5 / TOEFL iBT 80–90
Postgraduate: IELTS 6.5 – 7.0 / TOEFL iBT 90–100
● Many universities also accept PTE Academic, Duolingo, or MOI certificates.

Standardized Tests

Undergraduate: No SAT/ACT required (admission based on high school grades).
Postgraduate: GRE/GMAT required for MBA and certain competitive programs.
Medicine/Dentistry: HPAT or GAMSAT required for entry.

Application Process & Timeline

1. 12–15 months before intake: Research programs via CAO (for UG) and university
portals (for PG).
2. Prepare Documents: Passport, transcripts, IELTS/TOEFL, SOP, LORs, CV.
3. Submit Applications:
○ Undergraduate: via Central Applications Office (CAO).
○ Postgraduate: directly through university websites.
4. Receive Offer Letter: Conditional/unconditional.
5. Accept Offer & Pay Fees: Secure admission with initial tuition deposit.
6. Apply for Student Visa (Type D Study Visa) via Irish Immigration Service.

Ireland Student Visa – Requirements & Documents

Visa Type: Long-Stay Type D Student Visa
Visa Fee: €60 (single entry) / €100 (multiple entry)
Required Documents:
   ○ Offer letter from an Irish university
   ○ Valid passport
   ○ Proof of funds (€10,000 minimum per year)
   ○ Proof of tuition fee payment
   ○ Proof of accommodation
   ○ Health insurance (mandatory for non-EU students)
   ○ Academic transcripts, SOP, LORs

Visa processing time: 4–8 weeks. ​

Work While Studying & Post-Graduation

During Studies: Students can work 20 hours/week during term and 40
hours/week during holidays.

After Graduation (Third Level Graduate Scheme):
   ○ Stay back 24 months (Master’s/PhD) or 12 months (Bachelor’s) to find work.
   ○ Transition to an employment permit or apply for permanent residence after employment.
