Intakes & Application Deadlines

September/October (Fall Semester) – Main intake for most programs.
February (Spring Semester) – Limited intake, available for some postgraduate
courses.
Deadlines:
● Fall Intake: Apply between February – June.
● Spring Intake: Apply between September – November.

Tuition Fees & Living Costs

Public Universities: €750 – €3,500 per year (depending on region and course).
Private Universities: €5,000 – €20,000 per year (higher for Business, MBA, and
specialised programs).
Living Costs: €8,000 – €12,000 per year (~€700 – €1,000/month).

Spain offers affordable living compared to France, Germany, or the UK, especially in cities like Valencia, Seville, and Granada (cheaper than Madrid and Barcelona).

Language Proficiency Requirements – IELTS / Spanish

English-taught Programs: IELTS 6.0 – 6.5 / TOEFL iBT 72–90.
Spanish-taught Programs: B2 level Spanish proficiency (DELE, SIELE).
● Some universities accept MOI (Medium of Instruction) certificates.

Standardized Tests

Undergraduate: May require the EBAU (Spanish university entrance exam) for
certain programs.
Postgraduate: GRE/GMAT required for MBA or Business programs (IE, ESADE,
IESE).
● Many general programs do not require entrance tests.

Application Process & Timeline

1. 12 months before intake: Research universities via CRUE (Conference of Rectors
of Spanish Universities) and university websites.
2. Prepare Documents: Passport, transcripts, IELTS/TOEFL/Spanish certificate, SOP,
LORs, CV.
3. Apply Online: Directly through university portals or via UniAssist-like platforms
(for some regions).
4. Receive Offer Letter: Admission decisions usually within 1–3 months.
5. Apply for Visa (Student Visa Type D) at Spanish Embassy/Consulate.

Spain Student Visa – Requirements & Documents

Visa Type: Long-Stay Student Visa (Type D)
Visa Fee: €60 – €80 (varies by country)
Required Documents:
   ○ Admission letter from Spanish university
   ○ Valid passport
   ○ Proof of financial support (~€600–€700/month)
   ○ Proof of accommodation

Work While Studying & Post-Graduation

During Studies: Students can work up to 20 hours/week, with
employer-sponsored work authorisation.
After Graduation:
   ○ Graduates can apply for a 12-month residence permit to seek
employment.
   ○ Opportunity to switch to a work visa once employed.
